I created the front cover and inside sleeve artwork for our album 'Overtures & Dances', using the resources and studio space available to me during my Artist Residency with Stirchley Printworks. So much of the album repertoire features fairytales, with music from ballet and opera, so I knew I wanted a magical theatre scene. The motifs around the stage are little nods to the different fairytales on the album: Hansel and Gretel, Mother Goose...

I drew each layer by hand, and then screenprinted the designs using three colours. The stage was assembled around a cereal box using cardboard and lots of double sided tape. I enlisted the help of wonderful creative director and friend Alexander Kaniewski to light and photograph the tiny theatre, complete with four tiny paper guitars.
